The Story of A Lute
The Story of A Lute is the drama of the southern opera (legend) in the Yuan Dynasty authored by Gao Ming (1305—early Ming Dynasty), who was also known as Zecheng or Caigendaoren, and was a native of Ruian, Wenzhou. The story describes the marriage and family disputes between Cai Bojir, a scholar in the Han Dynasty and Zhao Wuniang. With penetrating influence on the opera in posterity, this opera is deemed as the "ancestor of opera".
